Lizzie and Eric’s wedding was an unforgettable celebration of love, laughter, and London elegance. Starting the day at the iconic St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, they tied the knot at the beautiful Old Marylebone Town Hall, before heading to their stylish wedding reception at The Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell.

Bridal Preparations at St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel

What better place to begin your London wedding day than the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel? Famous for its striking Gothic Revival architecture and for featuring in the Spice Girls’ first music video, this hotel oozes history, charm, and luxury.

Inside one of the plush suites, Lizzie, alongside her mum and sister, began the morning in high spirits. Hair and makeup were professionally done by Pam Wrigley in soft natural tones – classic bridal styling that complemented Lizzie’s timeless wedding dress perfectly. As a London wedding photographer, mornings like this are some of my favourites to capture – the laughter, the details, and those quiet moments before the day unfolds.

A London Town Hall Wedding Ceremony in the Westminster Room

After a calm and joyful morning, Lizzie and Eric travelled together to The Old Marylebone Town Hall – one of London’s most iconic registry offices. The ceremony took place in the Westminster Room, known for its refined panelling and natural light, a dream for photography. The room was filled with smiling friends and family, all thrilled to witness the couple exchange their vows.

As newlyweds, Lizzie and Eric exited the grand front steps of the town hall to an explosion of confetti and cheers. The confetti tunnel is always a highlight – full of movement, colour, and sheer joy.

Couple Portraits Around Marylebone’s Cobbled Streets

Before heading to the reception, we took a short detour through the beautiful cobbled mews streets behind Marylebone Town Hall. This area is full of quintessential London charm, pastel façades, iron railings, and period architecture. These portraits allowed Lizzie and Eric to share some quiet time together, away from the crowd, as the golden afternoon light created the most beautiful setting for romantic photographs.

A Reception to Remember at The Crypt on the Green

We then made our way to The Crypt on the Green, nestled beneath St James Clerkenwell. This hidden gem is full of atmosphere – arched ceilings, exposed brickwork, and ambient lighting make it one of London’s most unique wedding venues for couples seeking something a little different.

Guests were greeted with welcome drinks in the sun-dappled gardens above the crypt before heading inside for canapés and conversation. We used this time for some relaxed group photographs with family and close friends, taking full advantage of the venue’s moody interiors and striking architecture.

Heartfelt Speeches and an Evening of Celebration

The afternoon continued with heartfelt speeches from Lizzie’s father, Eric’s father, and Lizzie’s sister – a mix of laughter, stories, and just the right amount of happy tears. Afterwards, the couple cut their beautiful, minimal-style wedding cake before opening the dance floor with their first dance.

As the music played and guests danced the night away, it was clear that this wasn’t just a celebration of two people in love, it was the coming together of two wonderful families in the heart of London.

A Perfect London Wedding Day

Lizzie and Eric’s wedding was a true celebration of modern elegance in some of London’s most iconic wedding locations. From the luxurious start at St. Pancras Renaissance, to their timeless ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall, and the effortlessly cool reception at The Crypt on the Green, their day was a joy to document.

If you’re planning a London city wedding and looking for a photographer who knows how to capture real moments in stunning locations – I’d love to hear from you.
