PHOEBE & EDDIE’S SUMMER WEDDING AT CRIPPS BARN

Bright summer sunshine, tuxedos, pink and white flowers, and a dance floor filled with saxophone music—Phoebe and Eddie’s wedding at Cripps Barn on 10 August 2026 had plenty to photograph. But what stayed with me most was the connection between them and the way their children were at the heart of the celebration.
With temperatures reaching 28 degrees, it was a beautifully hot day in the Cotswolds. From the family moments during preparations to the party beneath the disco ball, their wedding brought together elegance, emotion and a great deal of fun.
Wedding Morning in Baunton and South Cerney
I joined Phoebe at The River House in Baunton, where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids, children and mum. Having everyone together gave the morning a lovely family atmosphere, with plenty happening around the preparations.
Her dad arrived for the dress reveal before driving her to Cripps Barn. These moments before leaving for the ceremony are always a meaningful part of the story: the people closest to you seeing everything come together, just before the day moves into its next chapter.
Meanwhile, my second photographer joined Eddie and his groomsmen at Berry Farm Barn in South Cerney. The photographs from their morning show them enjoying their time together and getting ready in their tuxedos. Having both preparations covered means Phoebe and Eddie can now see the parts of the morning they experienced separately.
An Emotional Ceremony at Cripps Barn
Phoebe and Eddie held their ceremony inside Cripps Barn. Their children and bridesmaids came down the aisle ahead of Phoebe, before her dad walked her in.
One of the most moving moments was Eddie’s reaction as his daughter walked towards him. It was such a personal part of the ceremony, and a reminder that this wedding was a celebration of their family as much as their marriage.
Phoebe and Eddie have a wonderful connection. They bounce off each other so naturally, and that ease between them came through throughout the day. Photographing those little exchanges, the looks, reactions and moments together is a huge part of what I love about documenting weddings.
Confetti and Summer Drinks Outside the Barn
After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside for confetti on the steps. It was a lovely, celebratory start to the afternoon, followed by drinks, canapés and plenty of congratulations.
The pink and white flowers by Big Boy Blooms brought colour to the day, while the tuxedos added a classic feel. Together, the details gave the celebration an elegant look without distracting from what mattered most: Phoebe, Eddie, their children and the people celebrating with them.
The drinks reception gave me time to photograph all those moments between the planned events hugs, conversations and the excitement of everyone being together before the wedding breakfast.
Four Speeches and a Bouquet for Mum
The wedding breakfast was followed by four speeches, with contributions from Phoebe’s dad, Eddie, the best men and Phoebe herself.
During her speech, Phoebe dedicated her bouquet to her mum and handed it over to her. It was such a thoughtful gesture and one of the standout moments of the day. A beautiful detail became something much more personal: a way to recognise her mum in front of everyone they loved.
These are the moments that give a wedding gallery its meaning. Alongside the portraits and the setting, it’s those gestures and reactions that bring the photographs back to the people in them.
Softer Light for Portraits Around Cripps Barn
With such strong sunshine earlier in the day, we waited until after dinner for Phoebe and Eddie’s couple portraits. By then, the light had moved and softened, giving us a lovely opportunity to explore the grounds.
We walked around the barn before heading up to the back field for a few more photographs. Their natural connection made this part of the day a pleasure to photograph, with space for them to enjoy a little time together.
Choosing the right moment for portraits makes a real difference during a hot summer wedding. Working with the changing light allowed us to create a softer feel while keeping the session relaxed and fitting it around the celebration.
Saxophone, DJ and a Lively Dance Floor
The evening brought a change of pace, with a DJ and saxophone keeping the dance floor lively.
Light from the disco ball scattered across the room, adding another layer to the party photographs. There was plenty of movement and energy to capture a brilliant finish to a day that had already given us so many memorable moments.
From Eddie’s reaction during the ceremony to Phoebe’s bouquet dedication and the evening celebrations, this was a wedding full of personality. Thank you, Phoebe and Eddie, for having me there to document it.
