Grace & Jordan – A Donington Festivity
GRACE & JORDAN Donington Park Farmhouse, Donington Grace & Jordan A festive christmas wedding for all the family TO VIEW THE WEDDING GALLERY CLICK – HERE Grace and Jordan were married at the very end of 2024. Choosing the beautiful Donington Park farmhouse Hotel, they were blessed with an abundance of sunlight for a winter wedding and some very good close friends and family to witness their event. With Grace getting ready in the main hotel surrounded by her bridesmaids and her mum she chose a dark green colour palette for her bridesmaids to wear whilst Jordan and the boys chose a tweed effect suit Which was complimented by the bird orange detail. Having worked at this venue before and knowing how challenging the lighting can be in the main barn for the ceremony, this is what drew Grace and Jordan towards booking with me. The ability to capture their details whilst maintaining every drop of light was important to them during the ceremony. Following the ceremony however, in the bright sunlight of dec all guests made their way outside for confetti and group photos whilst a mixture of canapés and Mulled wine was handed out. following a brief encounter with the couples dog who came to say hello we made our way for a handful of portraits before heading to the pig sties for the Wedding breakfast. Why Micro Weddings in 2026 Are Perfect for an Intimate, Rain-Proof Celebration

Micro Weddings For 2026 Is an intimate wedding the new trend? THE PROS AND ADVANTAGES OF MICRO WEDDINGS IN 2026 In 2026, the appeal of micro weddings continues to flourish, especially for couples who crave a deeply personal, high-quality celebration without the scale (or stress) of a large wedding. With guest lists typically capped under 50, micro weddings let you focus on connection, experience, and intention — all while embracing the romantic unpredictability of British spring and summer. 1. Why Micro Weddings Are More Relevant Than Ever Intimacy and genuine connection With fewer faces in the crowd, you can truly engage with each guest. Whether mingling during a dinner or sharing a quiet moment by a window, micro weddings create space for heartfelt conversations, meaningful toasts, and memories that feel more like a close-knit gathering than a big production. As wedding experts note, smaller celebrations also allow couples to prioritise the details that mean the most to them. Luxury without excess Just because you’re having fewer guests doesn’t mean doing less. In fact, with a reduced headcount, you can re-allocate your budget into premium touches. Think gourmet catering, artisan floral arrangements, or a high-end photographer. HELLO! magazine reports that costs like catering, flowers, and stationery drop significantly with smaller weddings. Stress reduction & planning flexibility Micro weddings often mean lighter logistics, fewer moving parts, and more breathing room. According to event planners, smaller weddings make it easier to personalise every moment, eliminate “awkward invites,” and throw out rigid rules in favour of authenticity. Eco-conscious choices Sustainability is increasingly front of mind for couples. With fewer guests, you generate less waste, and it becomes realistic to source local, seasonal food; rent bespoke decor; or work with independent artisans for favours. Venue freedom Micro weddings unlock venue options that might not otherwise be feasible. Historic manor houses, boutique hotels, private dining rooms, gardens, or even a favourite restaurant now become viable. And because these spaces don’t need to hold hundreds of people, couples often enjoy more flexibility in date and layout — including weekend or weekday bookings. 2. Micro Weddings in the Rainy (or Unpredictable) British Months Worried that spring or summer rain could put a dampener on a micro wedding? Actually, there are unique advantages to planning an intimate wedding during these months. Venue options for all weathers: With smaller numbers, you can more easily secure charming indoor London venues (like boutique hotel private rooms or historic houses) that feel cosy and welcoming even in rain. Square Meal highlights venues such as The Milestone Hotel (Kensington) or The Conduit in Covent Garden — both of which are brilliant for intimate gatherings. Midweek or off-peak perks: Choosing a weekday in shoulder season (late spring or early summer) can translate into more affordable hire fees, and venues may be more flexible. Creating a warm, romantic atmosphere: Rainy weather can enhance the mood. Use soft lighting, candles, lush florals, and natural textures to turn an overcast day into something deeply atmospheric. Outdoor-indoor fluidity: A micro wedding allows seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. You can tie the knot in a garden if the sun comes out, but retreat inside to a beautiful dining room or drawing room if the skies open. 3. Top London & UK Venues Ideal for Micro Weddings in 2026 Here are some standout venues that work beautifully for intimate micro weddings — especially when balancing elegance, flexibility, and character: The Conduit, Covent Garden: With a dining room for around 44 guests and a rooftop terrace, this venue offers a modern, relaxed space ideal for small, stylish ceremonies. Cliveden House, Berkshire: This historic country house offers “intimate packages” for smaller weddings (micro scale), with stunning rooms, gardens, and exclusive feel. Sissinghurst Castle Gardens / Private Estates: For a green, natural feel, private gardens or National Trust properties offer magical settings — especially if you’re planning for spring or early summer. Boutique Hotels / Townhouses: Smaller hotels often have charming private dining rooms or salons that are perfect for micro weddings, offering both ceremony and reception under one roof. Country Retreats / Manor Houses: For couples who want to make a weekend of it, exclusive-use country houses (or manor estates) become more accessible when the guest list is small. 4. Planning Tips & Trends for 2026 Micro Weddings Here are some practical insights and creative ideas to make your micro wedding planning as seamless and special as possible: Choose a planner or coordinator who “gets” micro weddingsOpt for a planner experienced in small-scale events — they’ll understand the nuances (venue sizing, catering, supplier scale) that are unique to micro weddings. Leverage technology & hybrid guestsIf some loved ones can’t attend, consider live-streaming your ceremony so everyone can join virtually. weddingbazaar.com Invest in a few wow momentsUse your savings from a smaller guest list to splurge where it counts: a live musician, bespoke menu, designer bouquet, or luxury bridal wear. Personalise with intentionBecause of the smaller guest list, you can tailor every detail — custom stationery, handwritten notes, personalised place settings, meaningful favours. Consider a multi-day celebrationRather than squashing everything into one afternoon, use the intimacy of a micro wedding to host a longer weekend: welcome dinner, ceremony, garden brunch, or relaxed walk the next day. Weather-proof your visionTalk to your venue about marquee or indoor backup options, or design your decor to feel equally magical whether inside or out. 5. Why a Micro Wedding in 2026 Is a Smart, Stylish Choice Intentionality over industry norms: Modern couples are less driven by tradition and more by meaningful moments. Budget-conscious luxury: Smaller weddings allow you to re-prioritise — spend more per guest where it matters, save where it doesn’t. Sustainability: Lower footprint, less waste, more local sourcing. Flexibility: Easier to find the perfect venue, secure preferred dates (even midweek), and adapt your day without the logistical burden of a giant guest list. Memorable for everyone: Guests feel more seen, included, and valued. For you, the day feels intimate,

A Westminster Wedding

ORLA & JAMES The Old Marylebone Town Hall, The Depot No7 Orla & James A city wedding in the heart of westminster TO VIEW THE WEDDING GALLERY CLICK – HERE On the dampest Friday of September, Orla and James had planned their exquisite Westminster Wedding at the beautiful old Marleybone town hall, followed by a reception at the stunning Depot No7 in Islington. Meeting with Orla at the Hoxton in the centre of Holborn, I first managed to greet her as she exited the lift by the entrance lobby. She was surrounded by her bridesmaids all in bright pink, clutching beautiful bouquets of flowers supplied by Fleuro Studio. As we awaited the arrival of the white cab and minibus to take the bridesmaids to the ceremony champagne was poured. During this period Dad got all emotional at how grown-up his little girl had become. After a glass or two of champagne we made our way to the town hall to celebrate the wedding. The Wedding Ceremony James, in a very smart tuxedo was ready and waiting for Orla to arrive down the aisle with her dad. After the bridesmaids had made their entrances, it was time for Orla to wow the room as she walked down the aisle to meet James. The ceremony was short and consisted of two readings along with the vow exchange and the rings. Towards the end of the ceremony, the bride and groom both got over excited and kissed. This was before they were fully announced making the whole room erupt in laughter when they were told to kiss again. As the guests made their way downstairs and out of the town hall Orla and James chose to have a handful of photographs in the corridors of the hall. They were then led outside to have photos in the iconic town hall pillars and the confetti shot. Half-Time at the Emirates On the way to theDepot, being such avid Arsenal fans that they are James and Orla made a half time pitstop at the Emirates Stadium for a quick photo. This was something I had never experienced but was truly worth the image. Upon arrival at the Depot, all the guests made their way off the buses as Orla and James arrived before welcome drinks were served upon arrival. Wedding Speeches Following a handful of group photographs, the speeches were ready to be given. With Orla’s dad going first, he sat the bar very high reminiscing about his involvement in her upbringing before James managed to embarrass her in his speech. This was returned however, by the best Man and his words of embarrassment for James. Following on from this Orla’s made of honour really embarrassed everybody. She did this with a wedding video of everybody singing James and Orla’s favourite song over the projector. Following the Wedding breakfast, the weather decided to clear up a little giving us enough time to go for a couple of portraits. This also allowed for the venue to transform the dancefloor area so that everybody could enjoy the first dance and join them and what was quite a raucous party. ELLIE & SAM St Peters Church, Ugley Ellie & Sam a homely wedding in hertfordshire TO VIEW THE WEDDING GALLERY CLICK – HERE Ellie and Sam found me off the back of doing a wedding for their friends Sophie and Freddie. Having the amazing Hadham Lodge generously donated by Sam’s grandparents this garden wedding was incredible. Preparations Upon arriving in Bishops Stortford and making my way down the long driveway I could see the tops of the tent set against the house. When I made my way into bridal prep to meet with Ellie, she was deep in hair and make up. The champagne was flowing and the bridesmaids were excited. Having taken a quick 10 minutes to look around the gardens and inside the tent I immediately found some lovely pockets of light. On my way back into the house where I found Ellie hanging her beautiful dress for the videographer. This dress by Isabella Grace was very elegant and understated with an optional bow on the back. Very quickly, the hair, the Make up and the preparations were complete and Ellie was ready to put her dress on. With help from mum she was ready to reveal her dress to her dad. With lots of emotion and anticipation, excitement and interest dad was blown away by his daughter. As they got into the vintage Bentley to make their way to church, I arrived with Sam waiting for the car to arrive. The ceremony Preceded by her bridesmaids, Ellie and her dad entered the church to greet Sam at the top of the aisle. Sam was in tears thinking he was the luckiest man on earth. The ceremony itself was full of Sam’s favourite hymns. The odd joke was also shared by the vicar throughout. Following two readings, the paperwork was ready to be completed where Ellie and Sam had become husband and wife. Upon leaving the church, Sam and Ellie made their exit from the church through a confetti shower before leaving to head back to the house. With champagne upon arrival, the guests were able to congratulate the bride and groom. Following the small amount of group photographs that were requested we managed to sneak away for 10 minutes for a handful of couple portraits. All before the couple were announced into the tent ahead of Dads speech. The Reception Dads speech was full of laughter and embarrassing moments for Ellie which she agreed with and found hilarious. He finished his speech by giving her a personalised denim jacket, which had her new surname stamped on the back. Following the main course, the Groom and the groomsman had their say once again embarrassing each other with stories from the past which also made Ellie laugh. Shortly after deserts have been served we had a guest singer who felt it was the right time to start singing career whilst waiting on the group. Yes, that’s correct. We had singing waiters. Everybody was involved. Everybody was still on their chairs dancing and singing as loud as they could. It only took one and a half songs before people were on the dancefloor having the time of their life. After a short break the bride and groom broke into the first dance. From here they never left the dancefloor and ended up on the shoulders of the two strongest ushers to be the centre of the party. as I made my way out, I was able to reflect on what a great day I had witnessed and captured. LORENA & SEBASTIAN St Marks Church, Regents Park – Lorena & Sebastian A Wedding in regents park London TO VIEW THE WEDDING GALLERY CLICK – HERE Lorena and Sebastian were married at Saint David’s church on the outskirts of Regents Park in London. Having been visiting the church for the past few years they knew that this was the perfect venue for their wedding and also Benjamins christening. Details of the day The day started at their flat, on Albany Street where Lorena got ready. Then we went for a walk through Regents Park where Lorena wanted to meet with Sebastian before the ceremony. On the way to the church, Sebastian and Lorena met at the Sekret Gardens for a reveal of the dress. The groomsmen, bridesmaids, Bride & Groom then continued their journey where they all arrived at the church at the same time. An intimate ceremony in Regents Park The ceremony itself was very religious with one Reading from chief bridesmaid and it also included the baptism of their child Benjamin. Following the ceremony, pastries and beers were served in the garden of the church whilst speeches were given. This allowed for guests to relax and enjoy the space before moving onto the reception restaurant. A luxury reception nearby A short walk away from the church, Micheal Nadra was the chosen venue for the reception. Upon arrival the guests were served canapés and drinks which included champagne and oysters. The room looked impeccable, set over two separate floors the lighting was perfect. Just before dinner was served the bride and groom had decided they wanted to cut the cake and have their first dance. This was timed perfectly with my timeframe to capture all details.
