EMILY & MORGAN – Bangor castle, Belfast Emily & Morgan AN INTIMATE WEDDING AT BANGOR CASTLE, Bangor TO VIEW THE Full WEDDING GALLERY CLICK – HERE The Luck of a Irish Elopement I was first contacted by Emily via my website and I was excited to visit Northern Ireland. This my first visit to the island of Island and it was always going to be a great adventure, made all the better by photographing this wedding. After months of back and forth organising the time line and details the day arrived. As I flew out, I knew this wedding would be small and intimate surrounded by stunning landscapes and architecture. As I arrived at the location of the Air BnB for the preparations my breath was taken away by the scale and beauty of the building. A stunning Georgian house with acres of land and details inside to match the beauty of the house. As I walked in Emily & Morgan were opening a gift from Emily’s brother, a perfect moment to being the story on. Shortly after this the preparations began and Emily was accompanied upstairs by her sister to begin her hair. Whist Emily was perfecting her make-up she had prepared a letter for Morgan to express her feelings. This left Morgan highly overwhelmed and emotional as he finished off getting ready for the day ahead. Once both parties were ready they met for a first look on the ground floor of the house and Morgan was mesmerised. Bangor castle – The perfect wedding venue Following a small portrait session and family portraits we made our way to the wedding venue, Bangor Castle. Upon arrival Morgan set up a zoom link to all those back home for Emily before the ceremony so they could stream it live. The ceremony itself was heartfelt and genuine with the couple writing their own vows and sharing a tear. We then made our way to the walled gardens at the castle for a few portraits and champagne in the Northern Irish sunshine. Once we had shared a drink and got some photographs we decided to make our way back to the AirBnb to relax. When everyone was back at the house there was a secondary ceremony conducted by Emilys brother Brian. This was a slightly more religious ceremony which was held in the living room of the house. A tradition in Emily’s family at Christmas is to write cards and send books prior to Christmas Day and she decided to carry this onto her wedding day. With this each guest received a card written from the heart and a book, specifically chosen based on their interests. This was a special and tender moment as everyone accepted their gift and read their card in front of everyone else. At this time, the wedding breakfast was approaching, not before two speeches from the brides sister and father. Both were full of gratitude and meaning making everyone shed a tear. Only a stones throw away from the town hall Tai jumped into a London black cab to make her way to the ceremony. Keeping their day intimate, 12 of their closest family and friends were in attendance. As I wandered around the streets of Chelsea before the ceremony began I looked to plan for after the ceremony. In the hour I was walking I stumbled across the most amazing London buildings and architecture. I knew this was to be where we would go for portraits. Having been sent a Pinterest board weeks before the wedding I had an idea in mind of what the couple were looking for. Charming white buildings and quiet roads allowed us to get the imagery that was requested. Its location is ideal for couples seeking the perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Surrounded by the rich cultural heritage Old Marylebone Town Hall, situated in the heart of London, has quickly become a top choice for couples seeking a picturesque setting for their special day. As a London wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the beauty of this historic venue. As I arrived to bridal preparations, Roisin and the bridesmaids were still out at the hairdressers but soon arrived after I was handed a cup of tea and a croissant by dad. Within minuets the Prosecco was open and the dress was on! Dad was so overwhelmed by Roisin’s choice of dress; opting for a short number with a large bow on the back. To the Town Hall: Booking two taxis to get from prep to the town hall, Roisin planned everything perfectly arriving 20 minutes before the ceremony – ahead of Malcom! Having waited around the corner for 10 minutes until Malcom was ushered inside then she made her way to see the registrar ahead of the ceremony. Ceremony Time: Once all of the guests had filtered their way into the Westminster room, Malcolm was eager to get the day started and see his bride to be. In the blink of an eye Roisin & Malcolm were saying their I do’s and securing their day with a kiss. Then we made our way out side to the iconic staircase to have photographs on the steps as the guests boarded the bus that was organised for them to get the the reception. The Party Bus Journey: Malcolm and Roisin had planned to catch a black London cab to the reception after stopping off for photographs on route, but failing to manage to hail down a cab and dark skies coming in meant when we saw the bus heading back round after turning around meant we jumped on to avoid the heavy rain. On here the vibe was brilliant. Loud Irish music, room to dance and lots of Prosecco allowed for a great journey through the heart of London. We can’t wait to see the pictures Making the way to the Depot No7 for the reception Arrival at the Depot saw a busy drink reception and lots of incredible canapés including chicken wings and arancini balls which were incredible. With the Prosecco flowing and a handful of group photographs taking place on the stair case of the venue due to the rain, everyone was anticipating some greta speeches. How to make the grooms day: Unfortunately Malcolms father could’nt make the journey over from Ireland due to illness and the best man (Malcolms brother) wasn’t going to let him miss out on a funny speech so decided to make a phone call over to Ireland for him to make the speech over the phone into the microphone! Malcolm loved it!! Party Time at the Depot: The evening party started off with an awesome vibe with everyone very quickly deciding to join in on the first dance. The dance floor soon had the bride and groom in the air dancing with so much excitement and a great vibe! Reception – Ninelives, London Bridge, London SE1 // THE ASYLUM CHAPEL, PECKHAM – NINE LIVES PECKHAM, SE1 // Stacey and Mike caught my attention from their inquiry for when they mentioned they were getting married at the stunning Asylum Chapel in Peckham. This venue had been on my radar for a few years and I was super excited to see it on their inquiry form. On the day I met Stacey at her apartment for bridal preparations which was a short Uber ride to the venue. Here I got to photograph Stacey through out the preparations with her mum, friend and their beautiful dog. On arrival at the chapel I was amazed at where the ceremony was taking place as the location appeared to be a row of terraced houses? Behind the entrance door however everything was amazing and stunning just like I knew it would be. Mike appeared excited yet calm and as I had arrived just ahead the girls he knew things were beginning very soon. Stacey walked into the room and Mike’s eyes lit up as he was blown away by how amazing she looked wearing her wedding dress. The ceremony itself was short and sweet and whist the couple were signing the register their good friend entertained the guests with acoustic music from his guitar. Then the party could begin. Prosecco whist waiting for the bus, Prosecco on the bus and then more prosecco on arrival. After a few short group photographs we were called in to enjoy the dark and atmospheric interior of Nine Lives bar in the centre of London. Before the wedding breakfast was served we were treated to a selection of speeches from the groom and his sister along with the best mans speech.
