DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
For celebrations worth travelling for.
Weddings have a different energy when everyone has travelled somewhere extraordinary to be there.
I photograph destination weddings across Italy and Europe with a blend of honest documentary storytelling and an editorial eye — capturing not only how everything looked, but what it felt like to be there.
01 / DESTINATION WEDDINGS
A WEDDING DAY. A WEEKEND. A STORY WORTH TELLING PROPERLY.
There’s something incredibly special about a destination wedding.
Perhaps it’s because everyone has escaped normal life for a few days. Maybe it’s the warm evenings, dinner under the stars or seeing the people you love drinking Aperol together beside a pool somewhere in Tuscany.
Whatever it is, destination weddings have an atmosphere all of their own.
And that’s what I’m interested in photographing — not simply the ceremony and portraits, but the people, place, anticipation, chaos, laughter, landscape and everything happening around you.
My approach is relaxed and observational for most of the celebration, with an editorial eye brought in when the moment calls for something a little more considered.
02 / TUSCANY
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN.
Tuscany seems almost designed for weddings. The villas, olive groves, long tables, incredible food and unmistakable Italian evening light create an atmosphere that’s difficult to replicate anywhere else.
Having photographed weddings and celebrations here, I’ve learned that the location shouldn’t simply become a backdrop. It should become part of the story — the heat of the afternoon, guests disappearing into the shade, dinner stretching into the evening and the last piece of sunlight catching the landscape before the party really starts.
As a Tuscany wedding photographer, I’m looking for all of it: the beautiful, certainly, but also the wonderfully imperfect moments happening between everything you planned.
03 / MORE THAN THE WEDDING DAY
THE STORY DOESN'T HAVE TO START AT THE CEREMONY.
Some of my favourite destination photographs aren’t taken on the wedding day at all. They’re from the evening before.
Welcome drinks that turn into dinner. Pizza beside the pool. BBQs, beers, old friends meeting new ones and everyone beginning to realise that the wedding they’ve travelled hundreds of miles for has finally started.
Photographing the wider celebration gives me the opportunity to meet the people who matter to you before the wedding itself. By the time the wedding morning arrives, I’m no longer another supplier walking into the room with a camera. I’m Jon.
People relax. I understand the personalities and relationships around you, and I can concentrate on documenting what’s actually happening.
For destination weddings, I can photograph far more than just the wedding day — from welcome dinners and pre-wedding parties through to the main celebration itself.
BE THERE. I'LL REMEMBER IT FOR YOU.
04 / THE APPROACH
DOCUMENTARY AT HEART. EDITORIAL WHEN IT MATTERS.
I don’t want your wedding to become a photoshoot.
Most of the time I’ll be amongst your guests, watching, anticipating and documenting what happens naturally — the reactions, conversations, movement and tiny moments you probably won’t even notice on the day.
When we create portraits together, things become a little more intentional. I’ll look for beautiful light, composition and location and give you enough direction to make everything feel effortless rather than staged.
It’s a balance between documentary photography and an editorial eye. Or, as I’ve come to describe it: docutorial.
Real life, beautifully composed.
05 / WHERE NEXT?
ITALY IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.
Tuscany might have started the love affair, but destination weddings don’t stop at the Italian border.
I’m available for weddings throughout Italy and wider Europe, whether you’re planning a villa celebration in Tuscany, a weekend in the South of France, an intimate city wedding or gathering everyone you love somewhere completely unexpected.
I’m based in the UK and travel for a limited number of destination celebrations each year.

06 / YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
HI, I'M JON.
I’ve been photographing weddings for more than a decade, but I still arrive at every one excited about what I’m going to find.
My job isn’t to manufacture a version of your wedding for the camera. It’s to understand the people around you, anticipate what’s about to happen and make something beautiful from it.
Destination weddings give me even more of what I love about photography — unfamiliar places, incredible light, new people and stories unfolding over several days rather than several hours.
I’ll travel light, arrive prepared and throw myself into it. By the end, there’s a reasonable chance your guests will assume we were friends before the wedding.
07 / COVERAGE
YOUR WEDDING. YOUR WAY.
WEDDING DAY
From preparations through to the party.
WELCOME DINNER
The night before, photographed naturally as everyone arrives.
MULTI-DAY
A complete story of the wider celebration.
SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER
Additional coverage when the scale or logistics benefit from it.
Every destination wedding is different, so coverage is built around what you are actually planning rather than forcing your celebration into a package.
08 / QUESTIONS
DESTINATION WEDDING FAQ
Do you photograph destination weddings outside Italy?
Yes. I am based in the UK and available for a limited number of destination weddings throughout Italy and wider Europe each year.
Can you photograph our welcome dinner too?
Absolutely. I particularly love photographing the events surrounding the wedding itself, including welcome drinks, dinners and pre-wedding parties.
How does travel work?
Once I know where and when you are getting married, I will talk you through everything required for travel and accommodation so there are no surprises later.
Can you stay for several days?
Yes. Destination coverage can be built around the wider celebration rather than simply the wedding day.
We are awkward in front of a camera. Is that a problem?
Not remotely. Most of my day is photographed naturally. When we make portraits together, I will give you simple direction so you are never left wondering what you are supposed to do.

If you’re planning a wedding somewhere extraordinary, tell me about it. The place, the people, the plans — I’d love to hear everything.
