Stone Barn Cotswolds Wedding — Sneak Peek & Autumn Barn Magic

ELLIE & BILLY Stone Barn, Cotswolds ELLIE & BILLY A FESTIVE WINTER WEDDING AT STONE BARN TO VIEW THE Preview Wedding GALLERY CLICK – HERE I arrived at Stone Barn around 1.15 pm on the wedding day, get spending a brief 45 minutes with Ellie photographing her final touches. Upon arriving at Stone Barn I was greeted by a crisp, dry breeze and soft daylight, the kind of afternoon that hinted at sunshine rather than grey skies. The familiar barn felt magical again: flagstone floors, timber beams, and that warm rustic charm underpinned the day’s mood. Walking in, the table setup (styled by the bride’s family) caught my eye. Classy yet understated, with deep maroon and dark green accents softly balanced by touches of pink and red in the flowers. The flower girls’ white dresses brought a youthful purity to the palette. Inside the wedding breakfast room, a handful of candles added calm elegance rather than opulence, simple, refined, timeless. By ceremony time the wind had given way to rain, and showers dominated much of the afternoon. But wedding days have a little magic of their own, as we slipped in a quick portrait session the rain stopped, and a beautiful sky emerged just in time. That fleeting golden moment, though brief, added a special glow to the couple portraits. My favourite moments of the day? There was a warm, touching exchange between the bride and her grandfather after the confetti walk. I felt real connection, and a memory I know the couple will cherish forever. Another highlight: Billy walking his bride’s mum down the aisle, a lovely nod to family and tradition. Amid it all, the bride’s grandmother quietly documented her own series of photos, and watching her photograph moments as intently as I was made everything feel just that bit more intimate. What struck me throughout was how this wedding balanced relaxed fun with understated elegance. The atmosphere felt calm during the ceremony, warm and full of feeling over dinner, then slowly shifted into energy and joy as the evening party began. For photos I mixed natural light with direct flash for a few of the “Vogue-style” portraits the bride requested, while most of the day’s moments were captured in the soft, warm glow of candlelight. Perfect for creating timeless, atmospheric images. In the evening, among laughter and dancing, a vintage car belonging to a friend of the groom made a cameo appearance. Those images turned out beautifully and are some of my favourites from the sneak peek gallery. I’m excited for the couple to share these moments, from emotional gestures to playful evening fun and for friends and family to rediscover what it felt like that day. If you love relaxed barn weddings with a blend of rustic charm, intimate moments and candid energy keep an eye out for the full gallery arriving soon. Why Stone Barn is so special Stone Barn sits perched atop a hill in the heart of the Cotswolds, offering sweeping views over rolling countryside. An idyllic backdrop for weddings. Inside, its historic stone walls, wooden beams and flagstone floors give rustic character, while fireplaces and candlelight add cosy romance. Inside Halfpenny London: Photographing the ‘Twenty Volume II’ Collection at Bloomsbury’s Iconic Bridal Boutique

HALFPENNY BRIDAL BOUTIQUE No.10 Woburn WalkBloomsburyLondon WC1H0JL HALFPENNY | FLAGSHIP LONDON BLOOMSBURY BRIDAL BOUTIQUE WHERE MODERN ROMANCE MEETS BRITISH CRAFTSMANSHIP Tucked away in the heart of Bloomsbury, moments from London’s creative quarter, sits one of Britain’s most iconic bridal boutiques. Halfpenny London. Founded by celebrated designer Kate Halfpenny, this atelier has become a sanctuary for brides who crave something fashion-forward yet timeless. Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of photographing inside the boutique, capturing the atmosphere, details, and Kate’s new collection. The ‘Twenty Volume II’ collection. From the moment you step through the door, the experience is more than just wedding dress shopping — it’s an immersion into craftsmanship, confidence, and quiet British luxury. Each gown, veil, and accessory is thoughtfully curated to tell a story. As a London wedding photographer, I’m drawn to how Halfpenny’s designs move with effortless grace with fabrics that catch light beautifully. This visit reminded me that bridal design, at its best, is about emotion as much as aesthetics. THE BLOOMSBURY BOUTIQUE Stepping into the Halfpenny London Bloomsbury boutique feels like crossing the threshold into a designer’s private world. The interiors are a perfect reflection of Kate Halfpenny’s aesthetic — elegant yet eclectic, a blend of vintage character and modern refinement. Every corner hums with creativity: soft lighting, rails of delicate gowns, and textures that beg to be photographed. The boutique itself is housed in a historic Bloomsbury townhouse, retaining its Georgian charm while exuding contemporary cool. Natural light spills through large windows, illuminating silk, lace, and tulle in all their quiet glory. For brides visiting the store, this setting isn’t just a backdrop it is part of the experience. Kate describes the space as “a place where a bride can exhale, where she can feel like herself.” That philosophy shines through in every detail, from the welcoming atmosphere to the artful arrangement of the gowns. It’s easy to see why the boutique has become a destination for style-conscious brides across London and beyond. From a photography perspective, it’s a dream. The palette of neutral tones and tactile textures means every frame feels refined yet intimate. Whether capturing a rail of dresses, the curve of a sleeve, or the boutique’s graceful façade on Woburn Walk, the result is the same: understated beauty, unmistakably Halfpenny London. There was a real buzz in the air when I arrived at Halfpenny London. The boutique was alive with movement — cameras rolling, dresses being styled, and a creative team in full flow. This was as they filmed the launch of the new ‘Twenty Volume II’ collection for their social channels. While I didn’t get the chance to photograph every gown in the collection, I caught glimpses of what makes Kate Halfpenny’s work so captivating: exquisite craftsmanship, soft romantic textures, and silhouettes that merge timeless couture with modern edge. Even hanging on the rail, the pieces had presence — delicate yet confident, with the kind of detail that brides fall in love with the moment they try them on. This latest collection marks a celebration of twenty years of the Halfpenny brand — two decades of redefining what it means to be a modern British bride. Each gown feels like a love letter to fabric and form; layers of silk, organza, and tulle that move like poetry. Although my focus that day was capturing the boutique itself, being in the space while the team brought the new collection to life was inspiring. You could feel the creative energy everywhere — the laughter, the attention to detail, and the pride in every stitch. Behind the scenes at Halfpenny London, where the team were busy filming the new ‘Twenty Volume II’collection — a celebration of 20 years of modern bridal artistry. Imogen & Ed – Gildings Barn

IMOGEN & ED Gildings Barn, Surrey IMOGEN & ED A DAY OF JOY, CONNECTION & LIGHT TO VIEW THE Preview Wedding GALLERY CLICK – HERE There are weddings you photograph, and there are days you live. Imogen and Ed’s wedding at Gildings Barns was one of those days: full of laughter, emotional moments, and light that seemed to breathe life into every frame. Nestled in the Surrey Hills, Gildings Barns provides a stunning backdrop of oak beams, exposed brick, and sweeping countryside views. Licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies and offering exclusive use of several interconnected barns, the venue offers flexibility and charm in equal measure. Morning: Calm, Anticipation & Connection The day began just outside the venue, in a beautiful Airbnb only fifteen minutes away. Imogen and her five bridesmaids prepared together in the calm of early daylight. I often believe that the morning moments, the quiet laughter, the adjusting of dresses, the shared nervous smiles are some of the richest to capture. In those hours, I photographed bridal details: Imogen’s Justine Alexander gown from Everleigh Bridal, Maida Vale, subtle bridal accessories, and the soft bouquets, with blooms sourced from New Common Garden Market. The dresses, the florals, even the light, they all whispered elegance. Meanwhile, Louise Ford (@louisealexanderhair) worked on hair styling, and Philippa Mile (@phillymakeup) created soft, glowing make-up looks. These moments, hairpins being placed, a brush over cheekbones, a bridesmaid adjusting a strap are the connective tissue of the morning. Arrival, Ceremony & Emotion By early afternoon, the energy shifted. I made my way to Gildings Barns and was welcomed by Ed and his groomsmen in sharp in Hawes & Curtis suits, greeting guests as they arrived. The barn doors opened, and the space readied itself for ceremony: wood, stone, beams, and all that natural texture. Inside the main barn, Imogen walked down the aisle with her father. They enlisted a young ring bearer, Imogen’s bridesmaid son, who delivered the rings with confidence and grace. There were three heartfelt readings (from siblings and parents), culminating in the first kiss under the warm oak roof. Then came the joyful explosion: confetti flew, cheers rose, and guests spilled outside for the confetti walk. We captured a large group photo, then individual groupings consisting of bridesmaids, groomsmen and a tender portrait of the couple with their grandparents. These are the images that future generations will return to. Wedding Breakfast, Speeches & Evening The crowd reassembled in the barn for the wedding breakfast, catered by The Wheeler Estate. The speeches unfolded between courses: first, Imogen’s father, then the groom, then the best men. Emotions were raw, laughter generous, and tears quiet. As plates were cleared, the stage was set for Technicolor Band (@technicolorband) to bring the evening to life. With the first song, the dance floor opened. Meanwhile, Imogen’s bouquet was thrown, and the night unfolded with movement, music and joy. Throughout, I kept behind the scenes: capturing candid moments, dancing silhouettes, and eyes closed in ecstasy. Reflections on Their Day & What Made It Special What struck me most about Imogen & Ed’s wedding was how intentionally they curated moments for people. Not only did they give space for a bridesmaid photo in robes or pyjamas, but they also ensured there were portraits of bride with each bridesmaid, and quiet in-between moments. Those are images that hold emotional weight when years go by. The synergy between suppliers added polish without overpowering the natural beauty of the setting: Home made florals (flowers via New Common Garden Market) Hair by Louise Ford, make-up by Philippa Mile Dress by Justine Alexander (Everleigh Bridal) Suits by Hawes & Curtis Catering: The Wheeler Estate Band: Technicolor Band Content capture: Social Sisters And of course, Gildings Barns itself: its oak interiors, rustic charm, and flexible spaces allowed every piece to feel in harmony. Its proximity to London, yet deep in the Surrey countryside, gives it the best of both worlds. Jourden & Jordi – Bakewell

JOURDEN & JORDI Bakewell Town Hall and Rutland Arms hotel JOURDEN & JORDI AN AUTUMNAL BAKEWELL INTIMATE CELEBRATION TO VIEW THE Preview Wedding GALLERY CLICK – HERE An Intimate Autumn Wedding in Bakewell: Jourden & Jordi Weddings don’t always need grandeur to be unforgettable. Sometimes, the most heartfelt celebrations are the ones that begin quietly, with loved ones close by, in a beautiful town steeped in history. Jourden & Jordi’s autumn wedding in Bakewell was the perfect example of this. Intimate, emotional, and full of tender moments that will stay with them forever. Morning Preparations at the Rutland Arms Hotel The day began at the Rutland Arms Hotel, one of Bakewell’s most iconic venues. Jourden prepared in the bridal suite, where her makeup was beautifully finished by Jessica Leigh and her hair styled by Danny Beauty and Hair. Just upstairs, Jordi waited in another suite, a picture of calm as his mum helped with the finishing touches to his tie and jacket. There was something quietly moving about those two parallel mornings with anticipation filling the air, just a floor apart, yet both waiting for that moment when everything would come together. The Ceremony at Bakewell Registry Office The ceremony took place at the Bakewell Registry Office Town Hall, beginning at 9:45am. It was short, sweet, and deeply personal — led by the registrar and filled with emotion. A single reading, beautifully delivered by Jordi’s brother, brought both smiles and tears, setting the tone for the promises that followed. In those twenty-five minutes, the room felt filled with love and sincerity, a perfect reflection of the couple themselves. Confetti & Portraits in Bakewell Stepping outside, the crisp autumn air welcomed us into the streets of Bakewell. Guests showered the newlyweds with confetti, a joyful scene that lit up the historic town. From there, we wandered to the river for group portraits and a handful of quiet moments with just the two of them. Bakewell, with its charming stone bridges and autumn colours, provided the most beautiful backdrop for couple portraits. These moments — full of laughter, closeness, and love — were among my favourites of the day. Wedding Breakfast at Rutland Arms Returning to the Rutland Arms Hotel, the couple and their guests gathered in a private dining room for their wedding breakfast. Jordi shared words of gratitude, speaking with warmth about his parents, Jourden’s parents, brothers, and Nan who was there to celebrate with them. It was a moment of togetherness, simple, heartfelt, and perfectly in tune with the intimacy of the whole day. Closing Reflections By early afternoon, the wedding had come to a close, but not before we captured every important detail: from preparations, to vows, to confetti, to riverside portraits. I left with a Bakewell pudding and tart in hand, and the memory of a wedding that proved you don’t need extravagance to create something extraordinary. As a Bakewell wedding photographer, it’s days like these that remind me why I love documenting weddings. Every detail, every glance, every laugh becomes part of a story that will last a lifetime. Jess & Sam’s Cambridge Polo Club Wedding

JESS & SAM St Mary’s Church, Swaffham Bulbeck & Cambridge and Newmarket Polo Club JESS & SAM Jess & Sam’s St Mary’s Church Ceremony & Cambridge Polo Club Wedding TO VIEW THE Preview Wedding GALLERY CLICK – HERE Jess & Sam’s Wedding at St Mary’s Church & Cambridge Polo Club Some weddings feel timeless, and Jess & Sam’s day at St Mary’s Church in Swaffham Bulbeck, followed by their reception at the Cambridge and Newmarket Polo Club, was exactly that. With a perfect balance of heartfelt emotion, family traditions, and their shared love of polo, their celebration was as unique as it was moving. A Relaxed Morning of Laughter & Excitement From the moment I arrived with Jess during her bridal prep, the atmosphere was warm and joyful. Jess was chilled, excited, and surrounded by loved ones. Her mood lifted even more when Sam made a thoughtful stop to drop off their dogs before heading to the church. It’s always these quiet moments before the ceremony that set the tone, and one of the most touching memories was Jess reading the heartfelt card and gift from Sam, which brought real tears of joy. A Ceremony Full of Personal Touches The ceremony at St Mary’s Church was truly special. The light inside the church was beautifully soft, the organist played perfectly, and the vicar was welcoming and accommodating throughout. What made it unforgettable were the deeply personal details. Alongside Jess’s mum, Sam’s nan had the honour of signing the register, while Jess’s recorded singing filled the church during the signing. A moment that left family and friends visibly moved. Jess’s dad was even spotted shedding a tear, a reflection of the love and pride surrounding them both. And then, the sound of the church bells rang out as Jess and Sam stepped hand in hand into a shower of confetti, one of my favourite parts of the day to capture. Style & Details That Told Their Story Jess wore a breathtaking gown from Burr Bridal, Cambridge. Its grand silhouette perfectly complementing the scale of the church. Her florals, designed by Johanna Barber & Tolly Constantine, featured a timeless mix of greenery with her favourite pink lilies, which decorated both the church and later the marquee at their reception. Another heartfelt detail was the cake. Sam’s mum baked a special fruit cake with requested Royal Icing, a recipe passed down from Sam’s grandmother. She had started soaking the fruit as early as June, with plenty of brandy, a beautiful nod to his grandma who sadly passed earlier this year. A Polo Match to Remember The reception at the Cambridge and Newmarket Polo Club was set in a simple marquee in an open field, with styling kept deliberately understated to allow the focus to remain on the people and the experience. After dinner, guests were treated to a truly unique form of entertainment: a live polo match. With a commentator perched on an open-top bus, microphone in hand, the energy was high and the atmosphere electric. Guests even joined in with the traditional “treading in” at half time before play resumed, an experience that was completely personal to Jess & Sam’s shared love of polo. Photography with Emotion & Atmosphere The light stayed bright throughout the day, so I made sure to capture a range of portraits at the church before we left, using the architecture and natural shadows to frame editorial-style images. Later in the evening we managed a few more portraits at the marquee, but I was grateful for those earlier backdrops that really elevated the gallery. For me, the highlight as a photographer was the ceremony itself, particularly the confetti walk outside the church, framed by the beautiful historic stone and surrounded by smiling guests. Words of Inspiration for Future Couples Jess & Sam’s day proved that simple is powerful. You don’t need endless details for a wedding to feel extraordinary. What matters is keeping it personal, surrounding yourself with the people you love, and letting joy lead the way. If you’re planning your wedding for 2026, whether in Cambridge, London, or at a destination abroad, I’d love to tell your story with the same editorial, documentary style. Enquire today via my wedding photography contact page to check my availability. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YESTERDAY, YOU WERE FANTASTIC! THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF OUR SPECAL DAY. The Romance of Black and White Wedding Photography
The Romance of Black and White Wedding Photography Featured in London City Centre The Romance of Black and White Wedding Photography When you imagine your wedding day, you might picture vibrant florals, golden light, or the delicate details of your gown. Yet there is something undeniably powerful about black and white wedding photography. A timeless approach that strips back colour, allowing emotion, connection, and artistry to take centre stage. As a luxury wedding photographer in the UK, I have found that monochrome imagery has a unique ability to transform fleeting moments into works of fine art. From an intimate kiss under the arches of Oxford Town Hall to a stolen glance across a candlelit reception, black and white photographs hold a cinematic quality that feels both nostalgic and modern. Why Black and White Wedding Photography Feels Timeless Colour trends come and go, but timeless wedding photography never ages. By removing the distractions of colour, the focus shifts entirely to: Raw emotions — laughter, tears, joy. Intricate textures — lace, silk, stone, candlelight. Dramatic contrasts — light and shadow shaping every frame. This is why black and white imagery has become a hallmark of fine art wedding photography and is often chosen by couples who want their wedding story told with elegance and depth. Editorial Elegance Meets Documentary Storytelling I often blend editorial wedding photography with a documentary approach, capturing moments as they naturally unfold while framing them with an artistic eye. Black and white amplifies this, whether it’s the architectural grandeur of Oxford Town Hall, the intimacy of a countryside church, or the relaxed charm of a marquee wedding. A Modern Choice for Stylish Couples Choosing black and white wedding photography doesn’t mean your entire collection will be monochrome. Instead, it’s about curating a balance. Many couples love the mix of vibrant colour imagery alongside striking black and white portraits. The combination gives them a complete, layered story of their day. If you’re planning a wedding in London, Oxfordshire, or the UK countryside, black and white imagery can lend your celebration an editorial edge. The kind you might find on the pages of Vogue Weddings or featured on Love My Dress (lovemydress.net) and Rock My Wedding (rockmywedding.co.uk). Is Black and White Right for You? Ultimately, it’s about how you want your story told. If you’re drawn to emotion, artistry, and timeless elegance, then black and white wedding photography is a perfect choice. As a wedding photographer in Oxford, London, and across the UK, I love curating galleries that feel like living heirlooms. A mix of colour and monochrome, editorial and documentary, always authentic to you. 👉 If you’d like to see how black and white imagery could transform your wedding photography, let’s have a conversation. Black and White Photography for Black Tie Weddings Few styles of celebration are as sophisticated as a black tie wedding — the sharp lines of a tuxedo, the refined drape of an evening gown, and the candlelit atmosphere of a formal reception. Black and white wedding photography amplifies this elegance, elevating every detail into something cinematic. Without the distraction of colour, the focus shifts to the drama of contrast: the crisp white of a dress against a black dinner jacket, the way light glances off satin lapels, or the timeless look of champagne toasts in a grand hall. For couples planning a luxury black tie wedding in London, Oxford, or the English countryside, monochrome imagery brings an editorial polish that feels both classic and modern — a style worthy of the finest galleries and magazines. PEARL & ISAAC Featured in London City Centre A Romantic London Pre-Wedding Shoot | From London to Singapore TO VIEW THE GALLERY CLICK – HERE A Love Story Rooted in London When I met this wonderful couple, they shared how London played such an important role in their journey together. It’s the city where they first met, studied, and fell in love. Although they are celebrating their wedding in Singapore later this year, they wanted to capture their pre-wedding photographs in the city that holds so many special memories. A Different Style of Pre-Wedding Photography Pre-wedding photography in Singapore is often styled in a more posed and structured way, which is quite different from my usual documentary, storytelling approach. For this session, we embraced their vision, blending London’s iconic landmarks with their cultural tradition of pre-wedding portraits. From the charm of the classic red telephone boxes to the striking presence of Big Ben, every image was designed to reflect both their story and the beauty of London. Capturing Meaningful Memories What I love most about sessions like these is the personal meaning behind them. While it was different to my signature candid style, it reminded me that photography is not about me — it’s about my couples and their stories. Whether it’s a London pre-wedding shoot, an engagement session, or a destination wedding abroad, my goal is always to capture memories that feel true to you. A Personal and Chic Celebration From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this day was about love, style, and connection. Surrounded by a close-knit group of family and friends, the ceremony was deeply personal, including a moving reading from Alex’s sister that left more than a few misty-eyed.
