Perfect Confetti Moment on Your Wedding Day

A joyful newlywed couple exits their ceremony, hand-in-hand, laughing as guests throw confetti over them. The bride, in a classic long-sleeved satin gown, raises her bouquet in the air as they walk through a tunnel of friends and family outside a grand London registry building. The groom wears a sharp black tuxedo and smiles widely. The moment is spontaneous and full of energy.

PERFECT CONFETTI MOMENTS Cnfetti, Confetti, Confetti   HOW TO NAIL THE PERFECT CONFETTI MOMENT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY  There’s something effortlessly iconic about the confetti moment. That heady burst of celebration, the spontaneous joy, the sound of laughter as you’re showered in colour, petals, or biodegradable sparkle. It’s a fleeting scene—but captured right, it can become the photograph that defines your wedding day. As a documentary-style wedding photographer based in the UK, I’ve witnessed countless confetti exits. And I can tell you: when planned intentionally (but still kept carefree), it can be one of the most joyful and photogenic parts of the entire day. Here’s how to get it just right. 1. Know Your Venue’s Confetti Policy Before you order anything, speak to your venue. Many churches, registry offices, and listed country houses have restrictions on what you can use and where it can be thrown. 💡 Pro Tip: Most venues only allow biodegradable or dried petal confetti. Some only allow it outside, away from the doors or lawns.Check with your wedding coordinator or planner early on. 2. Timing Is Everything The best confetti moments happen right after the ceremony—when emotions are high, your guests are buzzing, and you’re walking into married life, quite literally. It also ensures everyone’s still gathered in one spot. Bonus tip for photographers: If the light’s too harsh (hello, midday sun), we can work around it by shifting slightly into open shade or waiting a few minutes for softer conditions. 3. Quantity Matters (Seriously!) Don’t skimp on the confetti. You’ll need more than you think. To get that full, cinematic effect, aim for at least one generous handful per guest—more if you want that full-on flower cloud moment.  Supplier Spotlight: Shropshire Petals – Dried petal confetti, fully biodegradable and UK-grown. Proper Confetti – A modern choice for colourful biodegradable options with chic packaging. The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company – Gorgeous natural mixes from a family-run Worcestershire farm. 4. Create a Natural Tunnel Ask your ushers or planner to help organise guests into a loose, relaxed tunnel. No need for military lines—just enough shape for you to walk through naturally. The key is to keep everyone close so the confetti hits around you (not 10 feet in front!). As your photographer, I’ll help gently guide this so it feels effortless and unposed. 5. How to Walk It Like a Pro It might sound silly, but how you walk matters. Don’t rush it. Take your time. Smile. Laugh. Hold hands. Raise your bouquet. Embrace the moment.  Top tip: Look at each other, not the camera. That’s when the real magic happens. 6. Make It Stylish For those planning elegant city weddings, like at Old Marylebone Town Hall, or country house affairs in venues like Wilderness Reserve or Hedsor House, elevate your confetti look with a bit of personal style: Match the colours to your floral palette. Add lavender or herbs for a sensory touch. Choose petals that stand out against your dress (white on white? Not ideal). 7. Consider the Wind The most common question I get? “What if it’s windy?”Honestly—some of the best images happen when the wind plays its part. It sends the confetti swirling and adds texture and movement to the frame. I’ll guide your guests to stand closer and time their throws to make the most of it. Real Wedding Inspiration Take Joanna & Will’s wedding outside a beautiful London registry building. We captured that electric moment as they walked hand-in-hand, completely immersed in laughter and confetti. It wasn’t staged, it wasn’t perfect—it was real. And that’s why it worked.  See the image on Instagram → @jonathanflintphotography Final Thought: Let Go You’ve planned every detail, chosen your suppliers, and styled your day with care. The confetti moment? That’s where you let go. Let your friends cheer. Let the petals fly. Let the moment sweep you up. I’ll be there—quietly capturing it all as it unfolds. If you’re currently planning your 2025 or 2026 wedding and want emotive, elegant storytelling through photography, I’d love to hear your plans. Whether you’re marrying in a London cityscape or a countryside estate, let’s create something unforgettable—one confetti cloud at a time.  MORE WEDDING STORIES SARAH & JOSH View Here SOPHIE & FREDDIE View Here EMILY & MORGAN View Here All images are copyright of Jonathan Flint Photography and should not be used without permission.

Eleanor & Sean – Channels Estate

ELEANOR & SEAN Featured at Channels Estate, Chelmsford, Essex Eleanor & Sean  A STYLISH SUMMER WEDDING T CHANNELS ESTATE,ESSEX Elegant Outdoor Ceremony, Crazy Golf Fun & a Golden Hour Portrait Session TO VIEW THE preview GALLERY CLICK – HERE If you’re dreaming of a timeless countryside wedding in Essex, Channels Estate is a true hidden gem. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautifully relaxed wedding here – and I’m thrilled to share the highlights with you. Morning Preparations in the Heart of the Estate The day began at the charming Channels Estate, where the bride and groom were getting ready in separate rooms across the estate. This meant I was able to move between them, capturing intimate moments from both perspectives – a wonderful way to tell the complete story of the day. The bride wore an effortlessly elegant silk wedding gown paired with a timeless necklace and bracelet. Her look was refined and understated, the kind of style that will still look just as breathtaking in 30 years’ time. Meanwhile, the groom prepared with his groomsmen – the atmosphere calm, yet filled with quiet excitement. Outdoor Ceremony with a Touch of English Weather As is often the case with British summer weddings, a few drops of rain threatened the ceremony. But in true optimistic spirit, the couple pressed on with their outdoor wedding ceremony – and were rewarded with dry skies throughout the vows. The ceremony took place in the estate’s picturesque gardens, surrounded by lush greenery and rustic charm. This is one of the many reasons why weddings at Channels Estate are so magical – you’re surrounded by countryside, but just minutes from Chelmsford. Garden Games & a Laid-Back Atmosphere After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and garden games – including a round of crazy golf on the lawn. The atmosphere was light-hearted, the laughter infectious, and the drinks flowing. The wedding breakfast was served in the main barn, a space full of character with exposed beams and soft lighting. We had speeches before the meal from the best men and groom – heartfelt, funny and sincere. Golden Hour Portraits & Sparklers Under the Stars After the meal, the golden hour arrived – that perfect moment of soft, flattering light just before sunset. We stepped away from the crowd for some relaxed wedding portraits around the estate, making the most of the sunlit grounds and romantic light. The evening kicked off with the first dance followed by an energetic dance floor. We wrapped things up with sparklers under festoon lights, creating a magical end to a truly elegant day. Beth & Lewis – Hackney Town Hall Wedding

Black and white photograph of newlyweds Beth and Lewis walking down the aisle at Hackney Town Hall, hand in hand, smiling joyfully as guests applaud around them. Beth wears a sleek satin gown with a long veil and carries a bouquet; Lewis wears a classic black double-breasted tuxedo.

BETH & LEWIS Featured at Hackney Town Hall & The Depot No7 Beth & Lewis A JOYFUL, STYLISH SPRING WEDDING AT HACKNEY TOWN HALL & THE DEPOT No7 TO VIEW THE preview GALLERY CLICK – HERE Saturday 24th May was a day full of joy, laughter and classic East London charm as Beth and Lewis tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Hackney Town Hall, followed by an energetic celebration at The Depot in Carpenter’s Mews. As a wedding photographer with a love for capturing real, emotional moments, this day was a dream to document — full of vibrant backdrops, personal touches and unforgettable smiles. Getting Ready at London Town Hall Apartments The day began in central London where Beth and her bridal party got ready at the London Town Hall Apartments — a contemporary and stylish spot that gave the perfect backdrop for those relaxed morning moments. She was joined by her three bridesmaids, all dressed in classic navy blue bridesmaid dresses, a timeless colour that worked beautifully with the day’s modern London wedding vibe. Beth’s arrival at the venue was quintessentially London — she travelled with her father in a traditional white London taxi, turning heads as she pulled up outside the stunning Art Deco façade of Hackney Town Hall. A Ceremony Full of Laughter at Hackney Town Hall Hackney Town Hall is one of East London’s most iconic and sought-after civil wedding venues. With its grand staircase, original 1930s architecture and elegant ceremony rooms, it offers couples a beautiful blend of history and style — perfect for those looking to host a city wedding with character. Beth was escorted inside and whisked away by the registrars for her pre-ceremony interview, while Lewis waited nervously in the Assembly Room, ready to meet his bride. As the doors opened and Beth entered on her father’s arm, Lewis beamed from ear to ear. The ceremony was a mix of humour, heartfelt moments, and the kind of raw emotion I love to capture. Beth wore a flowing modern wedding gown (designed by Watters) that suited the elegant, city-chic setting beautifully. Confetti, Group Photos & Vintage London Buses After the “I do’s,” the newlyweds exited the grand front steps of Hackney Town Hall into a confetti line bursting with energy — always one of my favourite moments to shoot. We paused for group photos on the front steps and captured a few relaxed portraits that made use of the stunning architecture and clean lines Hackney is known for. Guests then hopped aboard two vintage red London double-decker buses, adding a fun and nostalgic element to the day. These buses are a fantastic way to keep your guests together and create a seamless transition between venues — not to mention, they make for brilliant photo opportunities. A Reception to Remember at The Depot, Carpenter’s Mews The celebration continued at The Depot N7 — a converted warehouse venue in Carpenter’s Mews that oozes industrial charm. With exposed brickwork, hanging lights and a stylish open-plan layout, it’s one of North London’s best urban wedding venues. Guests enjoyed welcome drinks in the courtyard, followed by a relaxed yet refined three-course wedding breakfast inside. With wine and beer flowing freely and the speeches delivered with both tears and laughter, the atmosphere was full of warmth and celebration. First Dance & Dance Floor Magic As the evening unfolded, Beth and Lewis took to the floor for their first dance to “Slide Away” by Oasis — a nod to their early romance and shared music tastes. From that moment on, the dance floor was buzzing with energy, and the party carried on into the night. As a Manchester wedding photographer who specialises in emotional storytelling and refined details, I knew from the moment I arrived that this day would be something truly special. Bridal Preparations at Home The morning began at Will’s parents’ house, where anticipation hung in the air as final touches were made. I then made my way to Joanna’s house, arriving just as she was surrounded by her eight bridesmaids, parents, and a sea of excited emotions. The energy was electric as she stepped into her elegant wedding gown. Gasps, happy tears and heartfelt embraces filled the room – it was one of those moments that reminds me why I do what I do. As the white vintage bridal car pulled up, Joanna and her parents made their way to the church, while her bridesmaids followed in a classic minibus, laughter echoing through the journey. A Reverent Catholic Wedding Ceremony in Manchester Their ceremony took place at the stunning St Vincent’s de Paul Catholic church in Altrincham, led by the ever-charismatic and warm Father GodJon. His service was beautifully balanced – reverent and meaningful, yet full of personal touches and humour that reflected Joanna and Will’s personalities perfectly. Will was visibly emotional as Joanna walked down the aisle – a moment of pure connection and love that everyone felt deeply. It’s always a privilege to witness and capture such real emotion. Confetti, Vintage Transport and Celebrations at a Warrington Wedding Venue After they exchanged vows, the couple exited the church to a jubilant confetti moment, made even more spectacular by two carefully timed confetti cannons. The joy was palpable. The newlyweds had arranged a classic red London bus to transport their guests to the reception venue in Warrington – a thoughtful touch that added a touch of vintage charm to the day. Meanwhile, Joanna and Will travelled ahead, enjoying a quiet moment together over a glass of Prosecco before the festivities continued. Reception Highlights: Heartfelt Speeches & Dancefloor Magic The afternoon flowed effortlessly with delicious canapés, laughter, and a trio of memorable speeches. Joanna’s father spoke with such warmth, followed by Will’s father – also his best man – who delivered a perfect balance of wit and sentiment. One of the most touching moments came from Will’s sister, who recited a moving personalised poem that left few dry eyes in the room. As the sun set, the celebration turned electric. A talented singer and saxophonist brought the dancefloor to life, setting the perfect tone for a night of celebration, joy, and connection. Joanna and Will’s Manchester wedding was the epitome of heartfelt, elegant, and joy-filled – everything I love about UK weddings.  If you’re planning a wedding in Altrincham, Warrington, or anywhere across the North West, and you’re looking for timeless, storytelling-led wedding photography, I’d love to hear from you. Located in the heart of Altrincham, with nearby access to Dunham Massey and Hale village, it’s a popular choice for couples seeking a spiritual yet stylish wedding backdrop. It offers plenty of photographic opportunities both inside and out, especially with the soft Northern light filtering through the windows. Following the ceremony, we moved to The Terrace at The Treasury Building in Palmyra Square South, Warrington– a contemporary and vibrant space ideal for modern wedding celebrations in Cheshire. With its industrial-chic interiors, exposed brickwork and stylish decor, The Terrace offers a unique contrast to traditional venues. Located in the heart of Warrington’s cultural quarter, this venue is within walking distance of the Pyramid Arts Centre, Queens Gardens, and the iconic Parr Hall. Natalie & Ant – Cripps Barn Wedding

cotswold portrait at Cripps Barn

NATALIE & ANT – Cripps Barn, Cirencester  Natalie & Ant their very own summertime ball in the beautiful cotswolds hosted by cripps barn   TO VIEW THE WEDDING GALLERY CLICK – HERE A Party Like No Other  Wow, this Crips barn wedding was like no other I have ever attended with high energy lots of music and dancing from the moment I arrived. Arriving at cute little Airbnb that Natalie had booked for her preparations I was greeted by no less than eight bridesmaids! During bridal preparations having kept a close eye on Natalie’s Instagram feed I knew this would have a party feel. Every story she posts shows her partying in a different part of the world and I knew today would be the same. Once everybody had been made up and was in their gown, it was time for the reveal to the bridesmaids and Dad. The girls couldn’t believe the dress that Natalie had chosen, with off the shoulder sleeves and a cathedral length veil. Dad however, was blown away at the sight of his little girl. Now fully grown up, and looking great, he broke down in tears as they shared a hug before leaving for the venue. Arrival at Cripps Barn for the Wedding  Cripps Barn by the time I arrived had already become a party venue. With over 100 guests ready to see Natalie & Ant marry it was a very busy day. Natalie’s arrival down the aisle with her dad was proceeded by the bridesmaids who all got the front row seat to the show. The ceremony itself was short and concise with two readings, one being a personally written poem by a close friend. Upon leaving the ceremony, the bride and groom walked a confetti line where they were showered from all angles. This then allowed for lots of time for the guests to congratulate the happy couple. During the drinks reception Natalie had arranged for a saxophonist to play mainly the Ibiza dance classics. This saw an abundance of people dancing the afternoon away as they enjoyed their drink. As group shots followed before everybody was called in for the wedding breakfast with the sun still shining, we were excited for speeches. Speeches  Mum and dad went first with speeches being very keen to embarrass Natalie about her childhood and very well succeeded. After the Wedding breakfast, Ant gave his speech, thanking close relatives, grooms party, with a mention to his original best man who unfortunately couldn’t be with us to celebrate. Next up were the best men. Determined to embarrass Ant and share some of their favourite memories they managed tears and laughter around the room. With the wedding breakfast was drawing to close, guests were ushered outside to witness the champagne tower. Natalie began by shaking champagne like she had won the F1. This made sure everybody was covered before Ant did the same. Then very carefully they began to fill up the glasses on the champagne tower before sharing them around. Natalie had also requested for a smoke bomb photograph which was completed on the hill to the rear of the venue. This worked really really well with such a large bridal party, definitely one to find in the gallery. Time to Party  The evening party was full of dancing, shoulder rides, hugs and kisses and lots of pizza. As I stayed on for that little bit extra knowing this party was going to kick off I’m very glad that I did as the dancefloor shots reflect the vibe of the true vibe of the party.
